should i switch…

August 31, 2005

my blog url to instead of ?

I picked up a few days ago from namecheap. It costs abou t$28, and it is currently hosting a little html art i created earlier this week. You can view the art here – here . Since creation of that, i made another couple html artistic peices, which can be viewed here and here .

Perhaps i could just provide a link to on… I don’t really wanna ditch the art. Maybe i could just make redirect here.

That would probably work.. I’ll go cook that up later today.

Have a nice day.

August 31, 2005

Today was a bad day.

It was raining outside, so I couldn’t get out on the bike; and I had to deal with a bunch of bitchy customers who are pissed about problems occuring from a couple server moves.

I looked into obtaining a membership at the local PowerHouse gym tonight. I’m probably gonna call them tomorrow to get information on rates. Hopefully it won’t be too expensive.

I haven’t been to that gym in a while. Last time i was there was back during the high school days, for tanning.

I wonder if you get to go tanning with a membership..

anyway, i’ll update ya after i call them up. That’s all for tonight, alterios.

I hate pro-fat people.

August 29, 2005

For the past few.. decades, i’ve seen overweight / obese people go through a few different cycles.

When they started, they all started saying ‘i’m gonna lose weight’. They later moved on to blaming the creators of that food they ate. Then, they started saying it is okay to be fat.

It’s great to say that you’re going to start losing weight. But, the idea flawed. Like all cycles of their movement, it follows one common flaw – it makes people feel good about themselves.

If people work on getting thin in a group. It gives them a sense of companionship. If one person gets the idea to quit working out, their only motive to continue is the possibility that their workout partner will look down on them. But, if one other person’s motive to quit is greater, then eventually the other members of the group will quit as well.

You shouldn’t feel good about your weight, you should be ashamed. You shouldn’t surround yourself with other fat people, you should feel like a social outcast.

Pro-fat people.. Why the fuck would you celebrate a health condition? Links between heart disease, and obesity have been proven. Stop spending so much god damn time watching / producing “The View”, and get out on your ass, and peddle! Maybe if you looked good enough to obtain a good man, you wouldn’t spend so much of your god damn time bitching about them. Being fat is nothing to be proud of, get some fucking motivation you fucking slob. Need some motivation? Reply to this blog post with your phone number, and I’ll call you every day at 7:00PM to yell until you get on a bike.

Do you think these kinds of things happen outside of north america? I’ll tell you what we need to do. We need to take all the women from argentina, and move them out here. Then, we need to take all these pro-fat american bitches, and send them out to argentina. Nobody will put up with their shit in argentina, and they’ll probably lose a good amount of weight under that hot argentina sun.

The End.

Utah Rave Raided

August 28, 2005

Here’s some mirrors to video depicting a bust that happend at a rave in utah:

There’s probably more out there. Here’s the readme file that was distributed with video:

Knick of Evol intent puts the night’s events into his own words::

Last night, I was booked to play an event about an hour outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. The hype behind this show was huge, they presold 700 tickets and they expected up to 3,000 people total. The promoters did an amazing job with the show.. they even made slipmats with the flyers on them to promote in local shops.

So, we got to the show around 11:15 or so and it was really cool. It was all outdoors, in a valley surrounded by huge mountains. They had an amazing light show flashing on to a mountain behind the site, the sound was booming, the crowd was about 1500 people thick and everything just seemed too good to be true really. Well…

At about 11:30 or so, I was standing behind the stage talking with someone when I noticed a helicopter pulling over one of the mountain tops. I jokingly said “Oh look, here comes big brother” to the person I was with. I wasn’t far off.

The helicopter dipped lower and lower and started shining its lights on the crowd. I was kind of in awe and just sat and watched this thing circle us for a minute. As I looked back towards the crowd I saw a guy dressed in camoflauge walking by, toting an assault rifle. At this point, everyone was fully aware of what was going on . A few “troops” rushed the stage and cut the sound off and started yelling that everyone “get the fuck out of here or go to jail”. This is where it got really sticky.

No one resisted. That’s for sure. They had police dogs raiding the crowd of people and I saw a dog signal out a guy who obviously had some drugs on him. The soldiers attacked the guy (4 of them on 1), and kicked him a few times in the ribs and had their knees in his back and sides. As they were cuffing him, there was about 1000 kids trying to leave in the backdrop, peacefully. Next thing I know, A can of fucking TEAR GAS is launched into the crowd. People are running and screaming at this point. Girls are crying, guys are cussing… bad scene.

Now, this is all I saw with my own eyes, but I heard plenty of other accounts of the night. Now this isnt gossip I heard from some candy raver, these are instances cited straight out of the promoters mouth..

– One of the promoters friends (a very small female) was attacked by one of the police dogs. As she struggled to get away from it, the police tackled her. 3 grown men proceeded to KICK HER IN THE STOMACH.

– The police confiscated 3 video tapes in total. People were trying to document what was happening out there. The police saw one guy filming and ran after him, tackled him and his camera fell, and luckily.. his friend grabbed it and ran and got away. priceless footage. That’s not all though. Out of 1,500 people, there’s sure to be more footage.

– The police were rounding up the staff of the party and the main promoter went up to them with the permit for the show and said “here, I have the permit.” The police then said, “no you don’t” and ripped the permit out of his hand. Then, they put an assault rifle to his forehead and said “get the fuck out of here right now.”

Now.. let’s get the facts straight here.

This event was 100% legal. They had every permit the city told them they needed. They had a 2 MILLION DOLLAR insurance policy for the event. They had liscenced security guards at the gates confiscating any alcohol or drugs found upon entry (yes, they searched every car on the way in). Oh, I suppose I should mention that they arrested all the security guards for possession.

Oh another interesting fact.. the police did not have a warrant. The owner of the land already has a lawsuit against the city for something similar. A few months ago, she rented her land for a party and the police raided that as well. And catch this, the police forced her to LEAVE HER OWN PERSONAL PROPERTY. That’s right. They didnt arrest her, but made her leave her own property!!!

Don’t get it twisted, this is all going down in probably THE most conservative state in the USA. And this is scary.. a gross violation of our civil liberties. The police wanted this party shut down, so they made it happen. Even though everything about this event was legal. The promoters spent over $ 20,000 on this show and did everything they had to to make it legit, only to have it taken away from them by a group of radical neo-con’s with an agenda.

This was one of the scariest things I have ever witnessed in person. I can’t even begin to describe how surreal it was. Helicopters, assault rifles, tear gas, camoflauge-wearing soldiers…. why? Was that really necessary?

This needs to be big news across the USofA. At least in our music scene (edm as a whole)… this could happen to any of us at any time. When we’re losing the right to gather peacefully, we’re also letting the police set a standard of what we can get away with. And I think that’s BULLSHIT!

The system fucked up last night… They broke up a party that was 100% legal and they physically hurt a lot of people there at the same time. The promoters already have 6 lawsuits ready to file with their lawyers and the ACLU is already involved.

I’m sure some pictures (and hopefully some video) will surface soon. I’ll make sure to post them up here on 404, so you can see the Police State of America at work.

Just another sign that this country is being over-run by conservatives.

so here’s my wisdom at work

August 28, 2005

If you have a little bit of vodka left after you drink alot, don’t save it.

Just fucking down it.

Then the next time you wanna drink, you won’t have to deal with such a measily amount. You will have to get a brand new god damn batch, and you’ll be fucking lovely.

August 27, 2005

my eyesight is fucked up. It used to be somewhat good, but for the past few years it’s depreciated a great deal. It’s hard to see things that are far away, and sometimes things that are close up. I once saw a doctor on ABC’s 20/20 say that being in front of a computer for a long time will not harm your eyesight. That guy’s a liar. I’m living god damn proof that he wasn’t right when he said that.

The other day, i was riding down a trail, and i saw a red blur about 400 feet in front of me. I continued assuming it was just some cedar or something like that. As i got closer, i still couldn’t tell what it was. Then, this huge blur just moved from the trail, into the woods.

I don’t know what i was looking at. It was too big to be a deer, and there aren’t any bears in oxford. Perhaps it was just a larger-than-average deer.. i’ll never know.

Speaking of deer, I saw a pack of 6 running across the trail a few days ago. It was pretty cool to see all of them out there.

I’ve been prepping this dedicated server for the past few days. I’m probably gonna move over there in the next couple days. You can demo it here – . Let me know how fast it loads for you. It’s not gonna be up to date, i just copied the database over, and installed wordpress.

Well, i’m gonna go out for a bike ride now. I hope to see the 40 year old virgin tonight, I’ll catch all of you later.

leach laws?

August 25, 2005

I’m still doing that excercise thing.

A few nights ago, the dad got chased by some dogs. Twice.. on two seperate ocassions.

This makes me wonder if oxford has any leach laws.

So, tomorrow i’m gonna go out and find some cops to ask about the leach laws.

Hopefully, they’ll tell me that oxford does have leach laws.

If they tell me oxford doesn’t, i’m gonna go to the next township board meeting, and propose we get some in place.

It’s not just for the safety of bikers either. It’s for the safety of animals. They aren’t smart enough to realize that when they chase someone into the road, that it’s possible that a car will come out and hit them. In addition to that, most drivers will be held responsible if they accidentally hit and kill a dog.

It’s for the good of society that people keep their dog on a leach.

That’s all, laterios.

August 23, 2005

Hey people,

Today I went out on the bike for the usual aunts-and-back trip. I was feeling pretty tired when i left, and it was also pretty chilly outside. But, i forced myself to go the full route, and i’m proud of myself for that.

The first quarter of the trip was pretty effortless. There were the usual bunnies hopping around, and out of the way whenever i approached, i did stop a few times to see the (restricted) trail enterances. I’m considering a tresspassing trip out there, the fields look really nice.

Second quarter of the trip was also pretty nice. I stopped halfway to try and break apart a branch that has been causing me to almost fall down since i started riding the pollyann trail. I did break apart a little bit, but the thign is just too big to move. I think i might bring a saw out there tomorrow, so i can move it at least partially out of the way. The trail has improved since it was rained out earlier this week. While riding through this section of trail, i spotted some restricted trails, which I am also considering tresspassing through.

At the end of the first half, i stopped for a 3 minute break like i usually do. While standing out there, i heard some people screaming in a playful manner. It could have been a murder, i don’t know. I guess i’ll start checking the news hidelines tomorrow morning.

Third quarter was just as fine. No major slowdowns, i did notice that the chain-skipping problem has started to happen on the 2nd from the bottom gear, so i shifted up, and the problem seemed to stop.

On the fourth quarter, the dad came riding towards me. He recommended i shift into the 2nd gear on the big ring, and put it into the 3rd gear on the little ring. I did that, and i’m getting alot more speed because of it.

Ending time was about 36 minutes. I’m satisifed with that. This time is about 4 minutes when i started riding the pollyann trail.

I’m thinking about taking the trail in an alternate direction which would lead me towards an area of oakland county which i rarely ride to. I’ll probably start doing that on monday.

Fall is approaching, and with fall comes even chillier weather, rain, and even snow. For fall, i’m gonna have to get a new jacket.

After fall, winter is here. Winter is going to suck hard. I’m gonna have to either prep my bike for riding through ice/snow (put screws through tires, that way my tires aren’t directly on ice the whole time), start doing daily rides on the dad’s rollers, or get a membership with the local gym. Part of my whole motivation for excercising now is the opportunity to go out traveling, and get away from home. If i’m stuck in home every day, i’m gonn alose motivation quick. The nearest gym is like 3 miles away. Walking there daily would suck alot. But, they do have weights, and all sorts of other equipment that could make this weight loss thing alot more efficient. Riding the bike through the snow.. Wow, that would suck alot. I’m not sure what kind of trail work the pollyann trail people are going to be doing through the winter months, but riding through that much snow will suck alot.

I’ve heard people say that during the winter months, people tend to gain lots of weight. I’m very afraid of this. I’m gonna have to come up with plans for when riding isn’t an option. Perhaps i could change up my schedule, start going to the gym for 80 minutes per day, and skip one day each time.

Aye, i worry too much.

It’s The Generator

August 23, 2005

Since i woke up, the generator that powers our water pumping system has been on. We’ve lived right next to the water pumping system forever, but the only recently installed a generator for use when power failures happen.

Well, the generator that powers the water pump is powered by gas, and it is very very loud. Pretty much everyone in a 600 foot radius is going to be able to hear the thing loud and clear. In addition to the noise inconvience, this thing is continually burning gas, and it’s causing the area around the pump house to start smelling kinda bad.

This thing’s been on since the mid-morning hours, and it hasn’t shut off since. As i speak, the thing is still on. Crews from DTE Energy, and the park’s private contractors have come out, but to no avail.

It really sucks. Very few people are going to get a good amount of sleep because of this. I’m probably going to have to bring my headphones into the room just so i’ll be able to hear the radio over the generator.

But, it’s a requirement to have water. I’d rather deal with this thing, than have no power. At least it’s somewhat silenced when all doors and windows are closed. It sucks living right next to the thing though.

That’s all.

i got lost today.

August 20, 2005

At 7:00PM, i went out for my daily bike ride. The plan was to go from my house, to the aunt’s house, and back – the usual 40 minute ride.

Well, i left, and I was more tired than usual. This is because i didn’t get much sleep last night. Somehow, I managed to get out to the aunt’s house in a more timely manner than usual. While out there, i looked ahead on the pollyann trail, and i thought i could see it curving back in a way that would send me back down lakeville road. So, i continued down the pollyann trail.

Well, before i knew it, i was lost. I just continued down the trail for a while until i found some trails that lead off the pollyann trail.

When i was off the pollyann trail, i rode through some kinda farm-type area, until i reached a residential road. When i reached that road, i went around the area for a while until i found something i could recognize; Leonard Elementary. The school i went to through grades K-4. The school seamed to have changed alot. The playground has lost alot of it’s good things. No more black-top, no more basketball hoops, it’s as dull as dullsville now.

Well, after riding around, i still didn’t know which way oxford was. So, i asked a guy, and he told me that i would have to go down the road, and around rochester road, and that would lead me to lakeville road.

So, i went all the way through there, and it took me a good while to get through it all. Eventually, i made it down to lakeville road.

After that, i just rode for a very long time until i got home. The road-side traffic was pretty unnerving, and i had to get off the bike to avoid accidentally swerving out into traffic a few times.

When i got home, it was 9:05PM. So, there’s my longest bike ride of the year.
